Arena de Sao Paulo is the newly constructed stadium which will host the opening game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The stadium has been completed just in time for the tourney after a few hiccups and is set to host six games including a round of 16 game and a semi-final. It will also feature in 2016 Rio Olympics

The City

Sao Paulo which is the capital of the Brazilian state of the same name is the largest city in the country with a population of around 8 million in the metropolitan area. Sao Paulo is home to numerous monuments, parks and museums and hosts high profile events such as Brazilian Grand Prix and ATP Brasil Open. A true cosmopolitan, it's known a City of Drizzle due to its fickle climate

Arena de Sao Paulo

Also called Arena Corinthians after the local club which is set to make it their home ground, the ground would have a capacity of 68,000 during the World Cup due to the temporary seats added to the setup. The construction faced a couple of accidents which delayed the completion. The stadium will feature the opening encounter between Brazil and Croatia on the 12th of June
